The Consignors

Consignors are the backbone of the Ranchers Horse Sale.

They are some of the best horsemen and women across the Great Basin—people who raise, use, and depend on their horses every day to get real work done. Many have been part of the sale for decades, consistently bringing horses.

These horses are proven over time. It takes years to make a true ranch horse, and that kind of experience can’t be rushed or manufactured.

Our consignors are committed to honest representation— sharing everything from strengths to quirks—to help match each horse with the right buyer. It’s not uncommon for a consignor to point a buyer toward another horse in the sale if it’s a better fit. We are certainly proud to have consignors like that who make the Sale what it is.

Consignors are either invited or go through a vetting process if they are new to the sale. With only 35 spots available each year—and priority given to returning consignors—very few new consignors are added.

All consignors held to a high standard. If a horse is not represented honestly, that consignor is not invited back. It’s a core principle the sale has stood on since the beginning.

Our consignors share in the mission of the sale—to offer great ranch horses, represent them honestly, and connect each one with the right buyer.
